Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is PADELADA WORLD, S.L. This policy covers parrlo.com, app.parrlo.com and the iOS app Parrlo Translate.
What data is processed
The speech and text you translate; the history of your conversations; app settings; technical information about errors. If you sign in: your account ID and, if Apple or Google provides them, your email and name; if you subscribe, your subscription status. If you turn on translation in your voice, also a sample of your voice (biometric data).
Where conversations are stored
Conversation history is stored on your phone. You can delete it at any time in settings.
Cloud and offline translation
In cloud mode, speech and text are sent to our providers’ servers only to be recognised and translated. In offline mode, translation happens on the phone itself and no data is sent anywhere.
Consent to use of your voice
Translation in your voice is a separate, optional feature. We create a model of your voice only if you are 18 or older and give your explicit consent in the app (we process your voice as biometric data), and only from a sample of your own speech. You may not upload another person’s voice.
The voice sample and model are used only to voice your translations, when you tell us to. We do not use them in advertising, share them with other users or sell them.
You can withdraw consent and delete your voice at any time in the app settings or by writing to hello@parrlo.com. When you withdraw consent we delete the voice profile at our voice provider (ElevenLabs) through its API and remove the voice ID from our server. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
AI-generated content
Translations and voices in Parrlo are generated by an artificial intelligence system. “My Voice” audio is a synthetic voice imitating yours and is marked as synthesised content.
Service providers and transfers
We use these providers as processors: Soniox Inc. (speech recognition); Anthropic Ireland, Limited (text translation); Eleven Labs Inc. (voice synthesis and “My Voice”); Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, network and Turnstile anti-bot protection); Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC (Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication on app.parrlo.com); Apple Distribution International Ltd. (App Store, Sign in with Apple, app verification); Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (web payments); Hugging Face (model download to your device).
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not use your phrases or voice to train models, and the apps and website contain no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Age
Parrlo is not directed at children under 14. “My Voice” requires you to be 18 or older.
Legal basis and retention
We process data to run the app (performance of a contract) and, for voice, on the basis of your consent. Data is kept while you use the feature and is deleted at your request or after you withdraw consent.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, restrict or object to processing, port your data and withdraw consent. Write to hello@parrlo.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es).
Website
The website uses no advertising cookies and does not share your data with ad networks. Fonts are loaded from our own server.
